Adjaye Associates has announced a shift in how the firm will be run, along with new titles for those in the firm’s top leadership positions. The firm shared via its Instagram today that three professionals at the firm will be appointed to the role of CEOs overseeing the work of their respective studios in Accra, Ghana; New York; and London.
Kofi Bio will serve as CEO of the Accra office. In 2017 he worked alongside the firm founder David Adjaye to make the Accra office a reality. Lucy Tilley, who currently heads the London office, will assume the position of CEO there. Pascale Sablan, located in New York, has been named CEO of the New York office.
According to a statement shared by the firm, each CEO “will have sole executive leadership of the studios, in charge of all operations, whilst continuing to lead projects and business development.”

David Adjaye has been named Executive Chair of the Group, and as a principal he will, according to the statement, “continue to lead Adjaye Associates’ design direction.”
“Today’s announcement reflects a fundamental change in the way Adjaye Associates will now be run. Over the last six months I have been taking professional advice on how to best reflect the firm’s considerable evolution over the last five years,” Adjaye said. “Whilst I will continue to lead the design direction of my firm, it is now the right time to devolve the management of the studios. Kofi, Lucy, and Pascale are exceptional leaders whose diverse perspectives and capabilities will give us the platform to succeed in our next chapter.”
The shift in management and the firm’s organization comes less than a year after David Adjaye was accused of sexual misconduct by three former female employees in a bombshell report that first appeared in the Financial Times. Adjaye denies the allegations. Since the news broke a number of institutions and clients working with the firm announced they were severing ties with the studio.
